Thanks so much for stopping by my site.
Hi, my name is Kym. I understand what it is to be a concerned mother, grandmother, and community member. There is so much to be concerned about in this world. Climate change is creating a crisis that we never thought we would face, let alone leave it to our children and grandchildren. We all want to know that the safety and harmony of our families and loved ones are secure. We want reliable, practical, and safe information that will assist us to thrive in the face of a changing world.
My journey began years ago when as the mother of 4 children I decided to go to University as a mature-aged student. Taking my degree to become a Registered Nurse, I wanted to be involved in healing and caring for others. Little did I know that what I really wanted was to be involved in healing and caring on a much bigger scale. Sometime later I completed my Permaculture Design Certificate with Geoff Lawton and so began my journey into the world of nature. Since then I have taken many different courses and continue to read and practice the permaculture principles in my daily life. I love to share an abundance of organic veggies, a healthy home full of sunlight and a family full of busy hands, muddy boots at the door, good food simmering on the stove, and a community around you that you can rely on in troubling or difficult times.
Being a Volunteer Community Educator and Fire Fighter with our Rural Fire Brigade has added another layer to my life, which means I get to talk to a lot of people, from many walks of life. I am also a Regenerative Farming Coach and Landscape Agronomist. Being passionate about our environment and the legacy we are leaving for those who come after us has afforded me some amazing opportunities and allowed me to work with a diverse range of people.
These roles have taught me about living more sustainably and efficiently, healing our lands, and being safe within our environments. Ready to Adapt was born out of this and much more, and seeks to provide resources and practical information to help you prepare for and build resilience in the face of this ever-changing world. Simple, sustainable, regenerative, practical, and actionable steps that we all can take to enhance the safety, harmony, and stability of our families, friends, and communities. Learn how you can take control of your resources and plan for a happy, healthy life no matter what comes to us. My husband and I live on an “off-grid” regenerative farm in Australia. We grow our own food from paddock to plate, breed Belted Galloway Cattle, and share with friends, family, and neighbours. You can check out our property here or via our Facebook page.
